  1. There’s a simple solution and that’s getting the free streaming services.
I have Tubi, Plex and Brollie.
Brollie is ad free but Tubi and Plex aren’t. Sure there’s ads but at least it’s free.

  2. Yup now we have 15 bills instead of 1 . Still have ads and prices go up n up n up for no reason.
And wifi is mandatory to use it.

Before we had 1 bill and the only thing you needed was electricity to use it .
We all fell for the scam , including me .

  3. Depends on the screaming services and how many you have. You don’t really need to have all of them unless you want to. And they’re still the advantage that you can watch them on your schedule.

  4. We were paying $230 for Xfinity and also paid for Netflix. We kept Xfinity but changed to their Xumo service which is a stripped down version of their basic cable along with the Xumo streaming service. No local TV, but I can stream the local news stations. Kept Netflix and also picked up the basic version of Paramount+ for $5.99. Paying $100 less per month.

  5. what’s *really* funny, is that netflix ‘disrupted’ the publishing model when the established players *refused* to embrace digital technology, p1racy died off

Now the old guard are back and everyone wants their own streaming platform rather than let someone else share the profits from ‘their’ content.

    welcome back p1racy!

  6. to a degree!!! I pay for the streaming sertvices with content I enjoy ANNUALLY, not monthly!!!!!! I save way more money that way, monthly is like rentacenter!!! Then many of our streaming collection is easily NOT PAID for because we already pay for the premium cable channels, so all we have to do is use out log in credential to get all of that content and expanded content FREE!!!!!!!!!! Netfix, been with them since you could only run it on your computer unless you had double filtered SVGA cables to run it to the tv!!!!! Had 2 dvds sent at any time as fast as we could watch them until streaming ended DVDs also!!! Then cut that part of the service and bill dropped massively!!!!!! Then again, we arent in a tight struggle, we just have watch we can enjoy, premium cable with all networks, and muany of those free now they have streaming services!!!!

  7. And I can laugh more since I got rid of cable a long time ago and have never had streaming services. I don’t have the problem of a streaming service removing a show or movie and having it deleted from the service before I get time to finish it, like I hear people talk about. It is funny how the people who told me they no longer need DVDs because of the streaming services are now turning to people like me so they can watch the end of the show/movie.

  8. What gets me is that I remember fights in congress back in the early 80’s(I think) over whether or not cable/satellite could show commercials. They said that the companies could either show commercials or charge subscription fees but not both.

  9. Yes it is! First there was cable,no commercials they said. Then satellite dish tv. No commercials they said. Now streaming TV. They lied. What happens when we stop feeding the corporations?

  10. It was clear from the start that the corporate money makers would find a way to milk every possible cent from every piece of our lives and entertainment

  11. I don’t pay for streaming because there are. No commercials. I pay for the convenience of being able to watch what I want when I want. Sure you can get a TiVo but then you need to worry about it missing something and running out of space, and can’t watch shows on my devices. People need to stop whining about commercials. They are a minor part of it.
