The “Planet of the Apes” franchise is set to expand significantly with five more movies planned after Wes Ball’s “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.” This ambitious extension would bring the total to nine films in the series. While the films have maintained a consistent quality, some fans express concerns that extending to nine films might dilute the franchise’s integrity.

  1. As a fan of the originals, the TV show, cartoon, plus the three modern ones, I have no problem with more. There’s novels, short stories, an omnibus or three, new comics. The Tim Burton one can stay in the Forbidden Zone, haha

  2. The original movie took place in 3978 the newest movie kingdom took place around 2330. So there is plenty of years in between to tell more story and still have it connected!

  3. An obscure 1963 novel, by an obscure French writer (Pierre Boulle) has become a major cash cow for Hollywood.
I personally prefer the original movies better than the remakes.
