I saw this in another group. A Star Wars group. This was kinda done in the expanded universe. The book Darksaber. Luke was taking his jedi girlfriend around the universe trying to help her reconnect to the force by taking her places that he had his big force awakenings. Landing on Hoth, they went to Echo Base and were fired on by the turrets. They defeated the turrets and made it in to find a group of trophy hunters. They were hunting Wampas and quickly came under attack. There were a lot of them and were organized. They were led by an older one armed Wampa.
If you read the novel “Darksaber” (unrelated to the weapon wielded by the Mandos in the TV series), Luke returns to Hoth years later and finds Echo Base to be the shelter of a hunting party. The party has been relentlessly hunted by wampas, and Luke has to help them. Ultimately, the hunting party are all killed and Luke barely escapes with his life.
After TESB the Empire doesn’t trust that Hoth won’t be recolonised, so a garrison is established on the ice planet. Slowly the Wampa population realises a new and we’ll provisioned source of food has been set up.
…until they decide to stretch it into a 10-episode series with 30 minutes of stalking and the rest becomes a slow-paced character-driven drama about the guy who said “two fighters against a star destroyer?” and the TaunTaun he raised from a colt.
How many ever caught the computer game ref with the name of the creature? Who doesn’t remember Hunt the Wumpus? I laughed that snuck that in and not many got it.
Yes, I would. And you better copyright that idea or else it’s going to show up on Disney+ as a limited series in 8 episodes. And you will not get any of the credit for it. 🤣
Count me in 😁 I think someone said about it be being one armed so you knew it was the one that almost took out skywalker 😳 that would add some extra terror to the hunt 😬
Attempting horror on a non-horror movoe series. I think Fox tried that with The New Mutants before Disney acquired them. It didn’t actually work and as you can see in the comments, they’re just making fun of it. Instead of scary, it’s funny. Closest one to being really scary in the Star Wars shows is Andor.
…yeah, I’d watch.
I’m waiting for another good Alien movie. Just ONE! Am I asking for too much? With all the dope stuff Dark Horse Comics put out back in the day, they wouldn’t even have to try very hard!
One can dream.
There is an awesome adventure for the Star Wars role playing game written by one of the blokes on the order 66 podcast where people go back to hoth base and are stalked by something.
Wasn’t that originally written in, to explain Mark’s car crash injuries? All it would require, is a cast bus crash, and they may have to go this route.
Yeah……YEAH. Disney+ could do something like that. We might not have the main cast (nor even CGI cameos) but a *GOOD* writer could make something like this happen.
The novel Death Troopers was Star Wars horror. It was pretty good. Disney wouldn’t touch it with a 10′ pole, though, especially since it’s part of the now non-canon EU.
Kinda felt sorry for the Wampa to be honest I mean he was only trying to get some food for himself in the sparse desolate ice of Hoth( can’t imagine there was much else for him to eat around) and he ends up dying on his own in his cage with his arm off .. poor guy 🥲
Directed by John Carpenter and you have a winner.
Make it NC 17 for graphic death of jar jar.
I would absolutely watch that
At least would someone do a fan film
It has already been done in a book. Many years ago

actually, i think it looks a lot like the ‘Bumble” from Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer before they pulled his teeth.

Ooo, crunchy!
It’d be awesome, I’d love to see a Star Wars horror movie taking place in the unknown regions kinda like Aliens
A much larger wampa civilization is discovered, the wampa win, align themselves with the wookies and begin colonizing frozen planets/moons.
Won’t that ALMOST be like the movie ‘Alien’? lol

only if jar jar was in it
I believe The Empire Strikes Back was originally written to include attacks by Wampas on the rebel base but was dropped before production.
Empire Strikes Back meets The Thing.
That was in the original script of the empire strikes back
Battle Front 2 Star Wars on the PS 2, you can play as a Wampa and invade the Rebel base and kill as many as possible
There is a deleted scene showing a Wampa invading the rebel base.
How many ever caught the computer game ref with the name of the creature? Who doesn’t remember Hunt the Wumpus? I laughed that snuck that in and not many got it.
You should read the “Galaxy of Fear” series, and also “Death Trooper”, it’s a zombie story.
I would love to see the deleted scene of the Wampa attack on the rebel base

I remember in one of the games you had to fend off a wampa attack like in gears of war horde mode
Watch “Man Beast”.. i love Yeti movies
No I wouldn’t. You’re expecting it to be like The Thing (1982) but it would be like Alien 3.
Mix that with, the thing.
Nightmare material. 😄
…yeah, I’d watch.

This makes me want an updated version of Shadows of The Empire
That sounds like an awesome Idea 💡

I think there is room for a ton of horror movie or other story formats in the star wars universe.
It would certainly be better than episodes 7, 8 and 9.
This would be awesome and would connect to the fact that one door on the base was closed with caution tape.
This looks like the cover of a choose you own adventure book 😹 I love it!
They’d need a small, cat-like droid named Jones.
If it has Star Wars in the title then I’ll watch it. Could just follow jar Jar around for an hour, I’d still watch it.

Absolutely, only Disney would have something to do with it and would probably turn out that it’s a friendly one just looking for a friend
Was actually a deleted scene from the empire strikes back, but yeah it would be cool, I’d watch anything to do with star wars
