Had to give up on his books. Endless lists of names and genealogy with very little action and after reading the first few there’s an endless wait for the next. Without the YV series he would have remained a minor writer.
This writer is well known to loss interest in his projects and wander off into something else . He had did this to Game of Thrones and only came back to it after it was picked up .

I’m pretty sure he gave HBO his ending, nobody like it, and that’s why is taking so long to finish the books

Honestly… with how badly HBO butchered his books, I couldn’t blame him if he wanted to quit. HBO basically smeared his name for their own profits.
Every time I hear about this dude I think about the “Black Friday” episode of South Park. Lol
Well now he can finish the darn books
