Dave Bautista’s “Dream Role” Is To Play Gears Of War Movie’s Marcus Fenix

SUPERCON SPOTLIGHT: DAVE BAUTISTA AND GEARS OF WAR (OR IS THAT GOD OF WAR?)

Dave Bautista was well known long before he donned Drax’s scars and inability to understand metaphors. From 2000 to 2010, and again in 2013 and 2014, he was an incredibly successful professional wrestler, and in fact holds the world record for longest reign as heavyweight champion.

Since 2006, however, he has also been an actor, appearing not only as Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also in Bladerunner 2049 and other films, such as Riddick and The Man with the Iron Fists.

In addition to the upcoming Hotel Artemis, Bautista currently has a whopping six films in post-production, including Final Score, for which he also serves as Producer.

Recent news has seen him commenting that he would love to play Marcus Fenix in a Gears of War movie (http://bit.ly/2Lpjbzp), while Pacific Rim: Uprising director Steven S. DeKnight has floated the idea of casting him as Kratos in a potential God of War movie.(http://bit.ly/2Jp50dc) Said DeKnight, “Dave Bautista would be the man. I think he can do anything. [He] can do drama, real emotion, humor, action.”

Bautista will be a guest at Raleigh Supercon (https://raleighsupercon.com/), so if you have questions for us to bring along, drop them in the comments. THANKS!
